This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on navigatingfrance.com and the application. It complements our Privacy Policy. We follow the recommendations of the French CNIL and the EU ePrivacy Directive.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a site. We also use localStorage and similar browser storage. We refer to all of them as "cookies" below.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary (always on)
Required to deliver the service. Cannot be refused without breaking core functionality.
- Session & authentication — keeps you signed in (Supabase Auth).
- Security — CSRF tokens, anti-fraud signals.
- Stripe checkout — set during payment to prevent fraud and complete the transaction.
- Consent record — remembers your cookie choice for 13 months.
Analytics (consent required)
We do not currently load any third-party analytics providers. If we introduce one in the future (for example a privacy-first, aggregated analytics tool), it will only run if you opt in and this page will be updated to name the provider.
Marketing (consent required)
We do not currently use advertising or marketing cookies. No conversion pixels, no re-engagement tags. If this changes, the vendor will be listed here and only set with your consent.
3. Managing your choice
You set your preferences on first visit. You can change them at any time:
You can also delete cookies via your browser settings. Refusing analytics or marketing cookies does not affect your access to the Service.
4. Retention
Consent is stored for 13 months (CNIL recommendation). Other cookie lifetimes vary by vendor and are shown in your browser's developer tools.
