These Terms govern your access to and use of the Navigating France website, application, and related services (the "Service"), operated by NAVIGATING FRANCE ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service you accept these Terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Navigating France is an information, guidance, and productivity tool for people relocating to or living in France. It provides personalised checklists, document storage, translations, and a guided assistant (powered by AI language models) that summarises publicly available French administrative procedures.
We are not a lawyer, accountant, immigration consultant, or representative of the French State. Nothing in the Service constitutes legal, tax, immigration, or medical advice. Always verify critical information with the relevant French authority (préfecture, Ameli, CAF, URSSAF, etc.) or a qualified professional.
2. Account
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your country).
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential.
- You agree to provide accurate information and to keep it up to date.
- One account per person; do not share accounts.
3. Subscriptions, billing & the EU right of withdrawal
The Service offers a free tier and paid plans ("Pro"). Prices, billing frequency, and included features are shown on the Pricing page and confirmed before checkout. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled from your account settings; cancellation stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period.
Right of withdrawal (Art. L221-18 French Consumer Code). Consumers in the EU normally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. By starting to use Pro features immediately at checkout, you expressly request immediate performance and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been fully supplied (Art. L221-28 13°). If you have not used Pro features, contact us within 14 days for a refund.
Outside the statutory withdrawal window, refunds are at our discretion and considered case by case.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Upload content that is illegal, infringing, or that you do not have the right to share.
- Upload other people's personal data without a lawful basis.
- Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to gain unauthorised access.
- Use the Service to send spam, malware, or abusive content.
- Use assistant outputs to make critical legal, medical, or financial decisions without independent verification.
5. Intellectual property
We retain all rights to the Service, including the interface, checklist content, walkthroughs, and brand. You retain ownership of the documents and content you upload and grant us a limited licence to host and process them solely to deliver the Service.
6. Assistant features
The Navigating France assistant is powered by AI language models and generates responses based on statistical models. It may produce inaccurate, incomplete, or out-of-date information. You must independently verify any action you take based on assistant output. We do not guarantee that assistant outputs are accurate or fit for any particular administrative procedure.
7. Availability
We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation. Planned maintenance and force majeure events may cause downtime. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features with reasonable notice.
8. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from or related to the Service is limited to the amounts you paid us in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages (loss of profit, loss of opportunity, missed administrative deadlines, refusals by French authorities). Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law (gross negligence, wilful misconduct, statutory consumer rights, personal injury caused by us).
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you breach these Terms, with reasonable notice except where immediate action is required to protect the Service or other users. After termination, retention follows the Privacy Policy.
10. Governing law & disputes
These Terms are governed by French law. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts in the jurisdiction of Grasse, subject to mandatory consumer-protection rules giving consumers the right to sue in their place of residence within the EU.
Consumers may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform and contact a French consumer mediator: AME Conso (https://www.mediationconso-ame.com).
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes are announced 30 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
